mNEMOSINE

Mnemosyne was the personification of memory in Greek mythology. A Titaness, born from Gaia and Uranus, whose junction with Zeus gave as result the birth of the Muses, the inspirational goddesses of arts.

In other words, this is a story that links arts and memory and opens an unlimited exploration path each time a creative process starts. In the Ancient Greece, this meant that artists of different modalities were conceived as mere intermediaries between the divine (the creative) and the mundane world; they requested pure knowledge from the Muses and eventually they expressed topics and heroic images patrimony of the Muses and, in the end, of Mnemosyne.

This is the Myth and the background who inspired the creation of the Strategic Partnership mNEMOSINE where 10 young romanians, together with 50 youngsters more from Spain, Italy, Turkey, Austria and Greece, participated along the last 12 months. Mnemosine's main objective is to encourage creative-formative and culture tissue of our territories to promote the youth participation. Through non-formal education activities that promote interest in participation, artistic and creative abilities of young people. And involve entities from our territory to create synergies between them and the young participants that generate the spark needed to get it.

Through an online training course the 60 participants represented youth work related to the three topics that the project contained: Identity, Languages and Cartography, as a training tool using a Moodle platform that allows interaction between intercultural, heterogeneous and interdisciplinary working groups. The training has four phases for teaching unit, 1st reflection, 2nd teamwork, 3rd execution of works and 4th self-assessment. Recently, we hosted a meeting where the whole romanian team attended discussed and shared feelings and thoughts of this experience and the journey it's being for them. Afer several hours, diverse activities and enlightening reflections one of the participants even assured to feel like
'a different person than the one who entered in that room in the morning'. This meeting was followed weeks later by a final exposition, located at Sfântu Gheorghe, where the creative process was culminated in different art expressions. Testimonies of the youngsters were different and personal, but there was always a common point:

'This long journey supposed an adventure to our deepest identity.
We changed but still remained the same. Mnemosine had an impact in their lives
impossible to avoid.'
