Meet the new volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps

Seven people, three different countries and a strong will to get their hands dirty!

Due to our amazing collaboration with the European Solidarity Corps from April to September 2019, our Yellow House is going to host another new, wonderful and heterogeneous group of Volunteers.

The European Solidarity Corps is an European Union initiative that aims to create opportunities for young people to volunteer or work in projects that benefit communities and people around Europe and so reinforce solidarity and the core European values. Thanks to this, since 2013, the Association for Transylvania (ATA) has shared the uniqueness of Cristuru Secuiesc’s rural community with over 60 volunteers.

Full of energy and eager to learn, the new volunteers are ready on the starting blocks to take part in our activities that are going to help them to get to know our traditions and culture. ATA and the whole community can’t wait to welcome them!

As in our habits, the volunteers are going to join different yet exciting projects. Carmen from Spain and Doloresa from Latvia will take care of our children in the Kindergarten. Among other duties, they will teach them English through singing and dancing activities. In exchange, the kids will surely make Carmen and Doloresa’s experience unforgettable. Duarte and Gonçalo from Portugal and Jorge from Spain will team up to look into our cultural heritage. They will find out our typical dishes, dances and costumes as well as our religious and local traditions in order to make some amazing reports that will share with us all. Last but not least, our ATA website and events will be looked after and coordinate by Diletta and Marco from Italy. They will be in charge of supervising the foreign volunteers’ projects and managing activities for the Youth Group besides creating contents for our webpage and social media profiles. Don't forget to check out the volunteers' presentations to get to know them better.

Cristuru Secuiesc welcomes you all and wishes you lots of luck!
